I wanted to personally thank everyone involved in making our church picnic such a great success. Although not all of our church family was able to attend, we were delighted to spend time with many of our faithful people. I always enjoy our time together.
A special thank you should also go to Dale and Christi Franz for opening their home to us. I know they put it a lot of work throughout the week to prepare their property for so many guests.
As you study the Word of God you will discover that the first century church was more than a group of people who met once a week to worship and then went their separate ways. Understanding that many of them were completely ostracized from their families for trusting in Christ and leaving Judaism and its binding laws, they took solace in their church family. Acts 5:42 says, “Daily in the temple and in every house they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” Church was not a location: it was a way of life. Their brothers and sisters in Christ, no doubt, became as meaningful or more meaningful than blood kin.
What a joy that we have been united in Christ and can enjoy the holidays with our church family, and in doing so, bring glory to Jesus Christ. We sure love our church family!
